We are pleased to announce our Employees of the Month for June: Alex Samson and Mark Formby.
Alex Samson started working with Spectrum in March 2022 as a cleaning operative. Her Regional Operations Manager, Jennie McColl, nominated her. Speaking about why Alex, she said: “Alex has been part of the Spectrum team for over four years and throughout that time has consistently demonstrated professionalism, commitment, and a genuine pride in her work. She is highly respected by our client team at the V&A, where her strong communication, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile have helped build trust and maintain the high standards expected within such a prestigious environment.
“One of Alex’s greatest strengths is her flexibility. Whether covering shifts at short notice, changing sites at the last minute, or stepping in to support operational challenges, she does so willingly. She consistently helps wherever needed and provides valuable support to both the operational team and our clients.
“Alex also plays an important role in supporting the development of others through on-site coaching and staff training. She leads by example, shares her knowledge willingly, and takes pride in helping colleagues succeed. Her support during the launch of new contracts and her commitment to helping teams settle into new environments have been invaluable.
“What stands out most is Alex’s genuine care for the quality of service we provide. She is dependable, hardworking, and consistently focused on doing the right thing for our clients and the business. Her positive attitude, adaptability, and commitment to maintaining high standards make her a valued member of Team North and a worthy recipient of this nomination.”
Mark Formby started working at Spectrum in April this year, and he has already caught the eye of the management team!
Mark started with Spectrum to work on the contract for the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale as a cleaning operative. Spectrum’s Managing Director, Rebecca Bell, nominated him. Rebecca quickly spotted Mark’s can-do attitude and willingness to support everyone on the team. Speaking about Mark’s nomination, Rebecca said: “Coming in to work at a high-profile event like the Open is not easy because everyone in Mark’s position has to learn a great deal very quickly; it’s not only about what’s expected of them, but also appreciating the responsibilities of the others, and, of course, how the team works.
“Mark was quick to learn and to adopt the Spectrum culture; he is hardworking and always keen to support those around him. His hard work and diligence were evident very early on the project, and I’m delighted to nominate him for one of our Employees of the Month for June.”
