Last week ‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen rocked the crowds at Hampden Stadium, but when it comes to cleaning, the real Boss, Sara Speirs, could teach him a thing or two…
A whopping 45,000 fans made their way to Scotland’s National Stadium and the Glasgow crowd were treated to a 3 and a half hour set from Springsteen – so you can imagine the mess that was left once the gig finished.
We have been cleaning Hampden Park for over seven years, in which time we have developed a very efficient management structure, with communication and project planning at its heart – and the Bruce Spingsteen gig was no different.
We had to schedule numerous shifts to complete our cleaning, so handover was a key element of the successful completion; this is an area where we have always excelled and, yet again, we beat the deadline.
While working closely with Hampden Park, we have assisted them in achieving zero waste targets, and at last week’s gig, we had dedicated waste operatives who managed the waste compound and streamed all waste, all whilst educating The Boss’ adoring fans. That’s Springsteen’s, not Sara’s!
Event cleaning is a highly specialised type of cleaning – and at Spectrum, we have perfected it down to a fine art.
We’ve also been cleaning up Robbie’s act and will be bringing you the latest from the Robbie gig very soon!
