Spectrum is looking forward to providing cleaning and waste management services this weekend at The Staysure Tour Scottish Senior Open at Craigielaw Golf Club in Aberlady from 14th – 16th September.
Located on Scotland’s Golf Coast in East Lothian, Craigielaw Golf Club will host the 26th edition of the event for the 4th year in a row. Over the course of 3 days, the golf club is expecting hundreds of spectators take to the course to capture some great golfing moments, with free admission across the weekend. This year, Craigielaw Golf Club will ask for donations for car parking with all proceeds going to local charity, East Lothian Food Bank.
During the tournament, amateurs will have the chance to play with the professionals for the initial two rounds, under the Alliance setup. On Thursday 13th September, a pro-am will also take place.
Our team are well prepared for a busy weekend of golfing action, with extensive experience of golf events behind us. We are familiar with the unique challenges that golf courses can pose, having recently worked at The European Golf Championships 2018 at Gleneagles and The RICOH Women’s Championship 2018 at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club this year, as well as numerous other events over the years such as the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open 2014 – 2017 at Golf venues all over Scotland. We were also privileged to be the cleaning and waste management provider for the most environmentally friendly Ryder Cup matches ever staged when the competition was played at Gleneagles in 2014.
The nature of golf events can bring a particular set of challenges, which over the years we have become very equipped for. Vast open spaces populated by a large number of people, all of whom consume food and drinks over an extended period every day, means a well-executed cleaning and waste management solution must be in place. Furthermore, as golf events are often covered by international media, it is essential to keep the course free of litter, even in the windiest weather. It is also critical to plan where rubbish bins are placed throughout the venue, and that they are emptied often enough to maintain perfect playing conditions.
We are looking forward to working with Craigielaw Golf Club this weekend to deliver an enjoyable and safe event in the stunning surroundings of Aberlady. We wish all competitors the best of luck!
