Spectrum are looking forward to be providing cleaning and waste management services for the upcoming RICOH Women’s British Open from 2nd – 5th August later this year. Held at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in Lancashire in partnership with IMG, the event is a highlight in the golfing calendar. This year is the 42nd Championship and is heading back to the iconic venue of Royal Lytham for the 5th time.
During the Open, we will be servicing the open course, welfare facilities and maintaining the toilets. Our team will also be cleaning the VIP areas including hospitality marquees and providing on course waste management and segregation. Spectrum will play an important role in making the event as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. We always aim to minimise our effect on the environment in our work, and are delighted to share this value with the RICOH Women’s British Open.
We are thrilled to be working at the prestigious golfing venue of Royal Lytham St Annes. The course is iconic for staging major tournaments on both the professional and amateur circuit. It has hosted 11 Open Championships, 2 Ryder Cups and the 2015 Walker Cup alongside the annual Lytham Trophy.
Golf events can bring a unique set of challenges. Vast open spaces populated by large crowds, all of whom consume food and drinks all day, means robust waste management and cleaning plans need to be in place. With international TV coverage, it is vital to keep the venue and course free of litter, in all weather conditions.
Our experience in golf is extensive; we have worked at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Royal Aberdeen 2014, and Gullane 2015. We were also privileged to be the cleaning and waste management provider for the environmentally friendly Ryder Cup matches at every stage when the competition was played at Gleneagles in 2014. We are also looking forward to be providing services for the upcoming Glasgow 2018 European Golf Championships later this year at Gleneagles.
