We are thrilled to announce that our Operations Director, Rebecca Bell, has been selected as a finalist for the Institute of Directors (IoD) Scotland Young Director of the Year Award 2019.
Rebecca has been with Spectrum for over ten years and was appointed as Operations Director in May 2018. Although her time in the position has been short, she has already made an outstanding impact on not only the operational side of the business, but has also developed initiatives which have notably improved our approach to QHSE and staff engagement. In Rebecca’s time as Operations Director, she has already generated some fantastic results, including the successful delivery of services to the Glasgow 2018 European Championships, the creation of an Event Manager role (subsequently attaining our first Major Golf Championship), the production of significant business cost savings, the introduction of a Quality & Compliance Manager role, and the completion of a corporate risk analysis as well as implementing a staff engagement strategy.
The IoD awards celebrate leadership talent, success and achievement in businesses across a variety of sectors. We are once again delighted to be involved in the awards, with Sara Speirs, Managing Director, having won the Director of the Year Scotland Award in 2016 and also having been a finalist for the Director of the Year Award in 2018.
The Young Director of the Year award which Rebecca is up for recognises leaders who have demonstrated excellent entrepreneurial potential, ability, ambition, creativity and vision who have operated at director level for less than two years. Rebecca possesses all of these traits and has exceeded in her role so far over the last ten months, and we look forward to seeing her continue to grow in her role.
Rebecca will join finalists across eleven categories and eight Scottish regions at the Awards Ceremony and Dinner on Thursday 23rd May at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central.
We wish Rebecca and all the other finalists the best of luck!
