Every year, Spectrum provides cleaning and litter-picking services at each Kiltwalk event; it’s something we’ve done for many years. These are always fun days when everyone taking part is there to raise funds for their chosen charity. Our events teams thoroughly enjoy the interaction and engagement they have throughout the day in each city.
This weekend is the Glasgow Kiltwalk. Such is the event’s popularity that it is now spread over two days, Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April. However, this year will be an emotional one for some of our team as they remember a former colleague who is sadly no longer with us. In August 2024, we published a blog about Claire Rankin, a valued member of our team who had sadly lost her battle with cancer.
This year, Claire’s sister, Karen Rankin, will take part in The Kiltwalk on Sunday, 26th to raise funds for The Beatson. She is doing so in memory of her sister, Claire. Indeed, her fundraising efforts start immediately; she’s hosted a Bake Day yesterday to try and get things off to a great start.
Karen is also a valued member of the Spectrum team. She currently works with our client, John Dewar, and is quick to volunteer for work at Barclays Hampden during the numerous events hosted at the national stadium.
It’s great that many of our team will be there along the route on the day to encourage and support Karen. Many have also already pledged money on her JustGiving page. If you’d like to show your support for her efforts and raise funds for The Beatson, you can do so here.
