We are delighted to announce our Employees of the Month for July: George Wells and David Pirie.
George Wells started working with Spectrum in May 2026 as a cleaning operative as part of the team working at Hampden Park and the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. George quickly impressed those around him, including our Managing Director, Rebecca Bell.
Rebecca was delighted to put George forward for an Employee of the Month Award after witnessing his hard work and commitment. Speaking about George, Rebecca said: “George is an excellent ambassador for Spectrum; his attitude and application were exemplary, and he set an excellent example for all on the team.
“George has a genuine ‘can-do’ attitude and was always willing to go above and beyond. He is also a fantastic team player, always willing to help others and pitch in if anyone needed support.”
David Pirie started working with Spectrum in August 2024 as a cleaning operative. Jennie McColl, Regional Operations Manager in the North, nominated him. Speaking about the nomination, Jennie stated: “David quickly became an integral and valued member of the Dufftown team. He is reliable, flexible and consistently willing to pick up additional hours when required, which is a huge support in helping us maintain service across the site.
“One of David’s real strengths is his laid-back, no-drama approach. Dufftown can be a fast-moving environment, with priorities and cleaning requirements changing throughout the day, and David takes this in his stride. He adapts to what is needed, gets on with the job and can be relied upon to help wherever required.
“David is a genuine team player who contributes to the smooth day-to-day running of the contract without looking for recognition or fuss. His flexibility, reliability, and positive approach are greatly appreciated, and I feel his consistent contribution makes him a deserving candidate for Employee of the Month.
