We are delighted to announce that once again we are working with The Kiltwalk in 2016. What’s more, we are not just providing services, we are an official sponsor, and we are encouraging our staff to actually enter teams at the four events.
This may not be the Olympic or Commonwealth Games, but it is just as important to the people it helps to support – the children of Scotland.
It is estimated that this year’s events will touch the lives of 150,000 children, with 100% of the money raised going to children’s charities and local causes throughout Scotland. This is possible due to the vision and support of Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation. The Kiltwalk management team works tirelessly to ensure your efforts entirely help the children that need your support.
As already mentioned, this is not a major sporting event, but that’s what makes it so appealing; almost anyone can take part at one of the four events, Glasgow (24th April), Aberdeen (5th June), Speyside (14th August) and Edinburgh (18th September). Spectrum Event Services will be at all of them. We are tasked with keeping the routes clean and tidy, and managing the waste along the whole of the courses and the various pit stops along the way – a tall order with thousands of people taking part over various distances at each event.
We are truly delighted to be supporting The Kiltwalk again this year, keeping the courses clean and disposing of the waste responsibly is an important element and we are pleased the management have chosen to work with Spectrum to provide these services. Below you can see what Anthony Grogan, Kiltwalk Events Manager has to say about our involvement with them.
