Today, we kick off a series of posts and other activities to celebrate our 20th Anniversary; it’s 20 years since Spectrum Service Solutions entered the fantastic world of Facilities Management. We think that’s worth celebrating!
In some respects, it seems like only yesterday and in others, it feels like a lifetime away from those early days in our small offices in Silk Street, Paisley. In fact, comparing that office to our Head Office now, you immediately realise how far the business has come since 2003.
We are proud of our steady growth over the years, not just in turnover or staff numbers but also in our position in the Commercial and Event sectors. Spectrum is now one of the leading independent, family-owned businesses in Commercial Cleaning and Soft FM, and we are the leading independent Event Cleaning providers in the UK. We will explore our growth and the breadth of our client portfolio in future posts and articles. However, we want to start our 20th Anniversary celebrations by acknowledging one of the primary reasons for our success – our people.
We are fortunate to have many great people in the business, without whom we certainly wouldn’t be where we are today. We continue attracting great talent into the business and recognise their commitment through our Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year Awards. But we wanted to start by highlighting some key people who have been loyal to Spectrum for a long time. These people have been with us through the ups and downs experienced in every business; they have remained committed to us and our clients and continue to lead by example.
So, thank you to Helen Love (19 years), Gail McLean (18 years), Sharon Allen (17 years), Isobel Nailen (17 years), Megg Kerr (16 years), Lynn Edgar (16 years), Rebecca Bell (15 years), Ian Clark (15 years), James Thomson (15 years), Brian Hume (15 years), Dianne Reilly (15 years), Helen Aitken (14 years) Wilman Hunter (13 years), Sandra Griffin (12 years), Melissa Rooney (11 years), Catherine Bellingham (10 years), and Leeann McTavish (10 years), you are all greatly appreciated.
As a business that truly values its people, we will feature others who have contributed to our success in reaching this noteworthy milestone in the coming months. We will also be looking at how the industry and technology have changed in the last 20 years, and we’ll feature some of the highlights we’ve experienced and the fabulous clients we’ve served along the way.
For now, we acknowledge and celebrate the commitment demonstrated by the people above; among you, you have given 248 years of service to Spectrum; that’s impressive and appreciated.
