Last week we announced that we would be working at the AIG Women’s British Open at Royal Troon, but before we go to the West Coast, we are working this week on the East Coast at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open. The competition which runs from the 13th – 16th August will be contested at one of Scotland’s leading venues, The Renaissance Club.
Even though there are now spectators for the event, Spectrum’s Events Team will still be kept very busy ensuring the venue is safe for all players, caddies, official and technicians. Understandably, hygiene is a top priority, and we will be providing extensive services which include enhanced cleaning services, provision of consumables, clinical waste services and waste management.
As part of the special preparations, we used Corona Guard microbial surface shield to sanitise the flagpoles and rakes for 7 days as well as sanitising the Clubhouse using hydrogen peroxide fogging ensuring the venue is safe. We will redo this at the end of the week before the venue is handed back to The Renaissance Club.
All surfaces have been cleaned with a Virucidal cleaner which has also been supplied to IMG to wash golf balls and trolleys. Selgeine Ultra which kills 99% of all viruses conforming to BS EN 14476 & 1276 standards and has been tested against the COVID Virus. This paired with health screening, temperature checks, PPE and social distancing has enabled a very safe environment for all concerned.
Speaking about this week’s event, Operations Director, Rebecca Spiers said, “I am delighted to be working with IMG again on this event. Together we have put many steps in place to ensure the players, caddies, staff and contractors are safe. It’s great for the Events Team at Spectrum to be back at a major global sporting event and playing our part in making it a success.”
While there will be no spectators around the venue, the event is televised around the world; Sky Sports will offer live coverage in the UK, while US viewers can enjoy all of the action on The Golf Channel. We wish all of the competitors every success, and we look forward to providing a clean and safe environment for them to perform at their very best.
