This week the Spectrum Events team are back on concert duty at the Summer Sessions in Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh. Presented by Cinch, the Summer Sessions promises to be a lively series of concerts from 8th until 14th August.
It all started last night with the acoustic sound and soulful voice of British singer/songwriter Michael Kiwanuka. Tonight, the gardens will welcome one of the UK’s top-selling artists of the 80s and 90s, Simply Red. Led by Mick Hucknell, it’s sure to be a lively and memorable event for the capacity crowd.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the green grass of Princes Street Gardens will be replaced with the Green Green Grass of Home when Sir Tom Jones takes to the stage! This British legend needs no introduction, and we are delighted to be working at his concerts in the capital. And, as if he weren’t a big enough name, he will be supported by none other than The Shires on both nights.
The volume will be raised a few notches on Friday and Saturday when Jim Kerr leads Simple Minds onto the garden’s stage. Arguably one of the best live bands in the world, they will be sure to entertain as they play a selection from the band’s 40-year history.
The week will be rounded off nicely by Glasgow band Travis. Having had so many hits and sold millions of albums, we know they will have no problem bringing the Summer Sessions to a fabulous conclusion on Sunday evening.
The Spectrum Team love working at all concerts. Still, we are especially looking forward to this week because of the variety of legendary talent that will perform in the open air and intimate surroundings offered by the Princes Street Gardens venue. Our team will be on hand all week to prepare the stadium daily to ensure it is clean and safe for each audience as they enjoy the first-class line-up of stars and their supporting acts.
