We are delighted to announce that Spectrum Service Solutions won the FM Project of the Year Award at the BIFM Scotland Awards on Saturday evening.
It was a glittering occasion at Glasgow’s Marriott Hotel when the biggest names in facilities management got together for the annual BIFM Scotland Region Gala Ball and Awards.
As we mentioned in a previous blog, it was especially pleasing to be nominated for an award by your peers, imagine then how pleased we were to be name winners on Saturday.
BIFM Awards are not easy to come by, there were only three award categories on Saturday night; FM Professional of the Year, FM Team of the Year, and FM Project of the Year which was our category.
Furthermore, within our category, sponsored by FES FM, we were up against two giants in the industry, Gather & Gather, and Mitie Client Services. All in all, you can see why we were so please to lift the coveted award.
The judges recognised the enormity of our Summer 2014 project when the Spectrum Events Team successful delivered cleaning and waste management services to some of the biggest events ever seen in Scotland, and all within a three-month period. We started with six venues at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and the BBC at the Quay outdoor festival, then The Scottish Open Golf Championship at Royal Aberdeen, followed by the Ryder Cup Matches at Gleneagles.
Spectrum’s Managing Director, Sara Speirs commented on winning the award, “This is fantastic recognition for Spectrum, and in particular for the Events Team. Their work over the summer was astonishing, we really do have a fantastic team of people at Spectrum. Winning this award wouldn’t have been possible without their efforts, not just during the events, but also throughout the whole year. The level of planning that went into each event meant we were ready for any eventuality. I am truly proud of each and every person working with Spectrum.”
2015 is also a busy year for us; many events have already taken place and we’ve some big ones in the planning, more news about these will follow very soon. For now, we will take a very short time to celebrate our success, then it’s back to planning the very busy calendar ahead.
