The one-year countdown to the Commonwealth Games was celebrated this morning with a cycling event and breakfast on Buchanan Street, Glasgow with Sir Chris Hoy.
It’s such an exciting time for athletes and the people of Glasgow as the 2014 Games is the largest multi-sport event Scotland has ever seen. However , the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games is much more than a sporting event – as part of a wider regeneration programme, the event will have a lasting benefit to the city both now and in the future.
The Commonwealth Games has helped to transformation Glasgow’s East End. The Glasgow for Business website states that: 64 hectares of derelict or contaminated land has been brought back into use since 2009, with 1,500 new homes built and planned for a new community. Furthermore, 400 jobs have been committed through community benefit clauses
At Spectrum Service Solutions, the city of Glasgow holds an important place for us in terms of growing as a company. One of our first clients was Greaves Sports in Glasgow who have multiple retail units throughout the city.
We have grown as a company since then and this year marks our momentous 10 year anniversary! We have came a long way since then and are proud to say we are a leading provider of contract cleaning and facilities management services in the UK.
We still work closely with Greaves and are glad to have worked in partnership with them over the years.
Our business has been built upon trust and the ability to deliver outstanding cleaning and support services to our clients.
