Spectrum gets involved in Kiltwalk 2018 for the fourth year running

kiltwalk2017

Spectrum are delighted to be a sponsor for Kiltwalk 2018 for the fourth year running. We will provide cleaning and waste services across all 4 venues including Glasgow (29th April), Aberdeen (3rd June), Dundee (19th August) and Edinburgh (16th September).

It has always been a pleasure to be involved in such a fantastic Scottish event which benefits hundreds of Scottish charities every year. This year is set to be as popular as ever, with last year attracting over 7500 kilt-walkers and raising an astonishing £2.3 million for 780 Scottish charities.

Last year The Hunter Foundation kindly topped up fundraisers efforts by 40%, raising the total by £658,000. This year will again see the foundation generously add 40% extra to the total to benefit each walker’s chosen charity. Sir Tom Hunter, founder of The Hunter Foundation and supporter of The Kiltwalk stated:

“Kiltwalk is the platform for people across Scotland to raise funds for the charity of their choice; it’s simple, it’s fun and it makes a huge difference to the charities they care about. For every pound they raise The Hunter Foundation will add another forty pence, which I hope makes this platform the most effective fundraising opportunity in Scotland.”

Of course, such a large event across multiple cities means a major cleaning operation must be in place, and Spectrum Service Solutions is proud to be on duty across the entire 23 mile route to keep it safe and clean for everyone. It’s hard work, but an event that the whole Spectrum team really enjoy getting involved in, as they encourage the walkers along the route and enjoy the lively Kiltwalk atmosphere.

We are excited to play a part in one of the biggest charity events in Scotland once again, and encourage everyone to get involved too. There are options for everyone, so no matter your level of fitness or experience, you can have fun and raise money at Kiltwalk. There are 3 levels you can participate in: ‘The Wee Wander’, which is 6 miles and suitable for families, ‘The Big Stroll’, which is 15 miles and suitable for those looking for a bit of a challenge, and ‘The Mighty Stride’, which is 23 miles for those looking for the ultimate Kiltwalk experience.

You can register to take part in Kiltwalk here. We hope to see you there!
