This month we are changing the format of our Employee of the Month.  As the business expands, we want to acknowledge the hard work of more than just one person.  So, we have decided to introduce runners-up in order to recognise the hard work in the growing number of teams we have working across  the country.

January’s nominations were: Audrey Cox, Debbie Powell, Mateusz Skawinski, Craig Nicol and Joanne Wright.

Audrey Cox

Audrey Cox is a Supervisor largely based at Hampden Park where she began working for Spectrum during the Commonwealth Games in 2014.  Audrey is recognised by the Management Team as a strong and reliable Supervisor who works to, and demands, extremely high standards.   As well as her ongoing duties at Hampden Park, Audrey also oversees another prestigious office complex in Glasgow city centre.   And if that weren’t enough, she also manages to provide support many golf event contracts during the Summer months.

Away from work, Audrey spends much of her time tending to the family, in particular, transporting and supporting her daughter at a busy calendar of dance competitions.

Debbie Powell

Debbie is a Supervisor at one of valued clients in Livingston where she expertly leads a team of cleaning staff to deliver consistently high standards.  Debbie is no stranger to hard work and going above and beyond for Spectrum.  This was evident recently when the client’s Company President scheduled a visit to the Livingston site; Debbie worked tirelessly providing additional cleaning services at very short notice to help the visit run smoothly.  Just the sort of commitment we appreciate from our staff.

Mateusz Skawinski

Mateusz (Matt), is perfectly suited to his role at Clan Haven.  Working in close proximity to cancer patients, their relatives, and friends requires a certain amount of empathy and Matt has proven that he understands the special nature of the people around him.

His strong work ethic, excellent time-keeping, and friendly polite nature have helped him gain the respect of his Area Manager and Clan Haven staff.  Matt has proven himself to be a true asset to Spectrum by regularly asking what else he can do to help, a quality we admire and encourage.

Craig Nicol

Craig pays extraordinary attention to detail on health and safety issues which makes him extremely well suited for his role as plant cleaner at one of our COMAH sites.  This is demonstrated by the fact he is the member of staff who leads on proactive care cards raised on site, a strong indication of his attitude towards the safety of all colleagues on site.

His commitment to maintaining a safe working environment in the COMAH site has earned him the praise of the Site Manager and our QHSE Manager.  We are delighted with Craig’s approach to work and the positive influence he has on those working around him.

And the winner is…

We appreciate all of the nominees and the contribution they make every day to the Spectrum business and to our reputation; each of them would be worthy winners of the January Employee of the Month; however, there can only be one winner and this time we’re very pleased to name Audrey Cox the January Employee of the Month.  Audrey’s tireless work and willingness to support and develop others is what tipped the balance on this occasion.  Congratulations Audrey, and thank you for your valuable contribution to Spectrum.
