‘The calm before the storm’ is a phrase that comes to mind this week because it’s the start of an exciting two weeks for the Spectrum events teams. This week, we’re at the Renaissance Club for the Genesis Scottish Open; next week, it’s The Open Championship. And with the changeable weather forecast, we may even get the odd downpour to challenge the players!
Our events team are preparing for what promises to be a great competition with some of the World’s best players from the DP World Tour and PGA Tour taking part. This year the lineup includes Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Patrick Cantlay, Victor Hovland, Xander Schauffele, Matt Fitzpatrick, Max Homa, Jordan Spieth and Wyndham Clark. This year, Spectrum will provide an extensive range of services at The Renaissance; we are cleaning in the public villages, sponsor and partner’s structures, hospitality areas, and the areas set aside for players, contractors, officials and technical personnel. In addition, we will be responsible for litter picking, providing hygiene services and products, and replenishing consumables.
Spectrum’s Operations Director, Rebecca Bell, is excited to return to the Genesis Scottish Open. She commented: “We’re delighted to be here for one of the most significant events on the DP World Tour; the months of planning are over, and we’re well into the preparatory phase of ensuring the course is clean, tidy and safe for the players, officials and golf fans.
“We love working at these mass audience events, and this is one of the best; our team members are excited about the week ahead, especially for Thursday when the competition gets underway.”
Below, we have shared some images from the course taken as the team prepares.
