Tonight’s match in Euro 2020 is the final match in the round of 16 when Sweden takes on Ukraine for a place in the competition’s quarter-finals. It is also our last match in Euro 2020. We’ve had the pleasure of working at three games so far; Scotland vs Czech Republic, Croatia vs Czech Republic and Scotland vs Croatia. The Scotland team put up a brave fight; however, this wasn’t their year, but the future does look bright for our national team.
It’s also been a pleasure to see fans back in the national stadium, even though numbers were limited to 25% capacity at around 12,000 people.
It may be the end of our involvement with the Euro’s but the Spectrum Events Teams still have a busy Summer ahead. We will provide an extensive range of cleaning services at the Open Championship at Royal St George’s in Kent. The competition starts on 15th July, and we look forward to seeing around 32,000 golf fans in attendance each day.
We then move to the AIG British Women’s Open Championship at Carnoustie, which starts on 19th August. Again, we will provide daily cleaning services on course and for all the players, officials, technical staff and hospitality areas during the competition.
Spectrum has a wealth of experience in the event sector; we’ve provided our services at many sporting events, including the Commonwealth Games and the Ryder Cup Matches at Gleneagles. However, this year has been a challenge because of the uncertainty around attendance numbers at major sporting events. It’s a testament to the professionalism of our team that we have responded to last-minute decisions and been able to provide a clean and safe environment for each event with which we have been involved.
Flexibility remains key to providing our services at this time; whether it’s for a significant event or the commercial cleaning of a factory or office building, we understand the challenges and work closely with our clients to provide the best solutions.
