We are delighted to announce that our work with the V&A Museum in Dundee will continue following a long-term contract award. We have helped maintain this magnificent building since it opened in September 2018 and are delighted that our association with such a landmark continues.
V&A is a world-renowned name in the arts and design sector and for consumers worldwide. Designed by acclaimed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the museum explores the global importance of design while showcasing Scotland’s exceptional design works.
Working at the V&A is always interesting because the exhibits change regularly. We’re particularly enjoying the recently launched ‘Tartan‘ exhibition celebrating tartan and its global impact, which started on the 1st of April this year. It’s already attracting lots of interest and a large volume of visitors.
The exhibition explores how tartan has connected and divided communities worldwide, how it has embraced tradition, expressed revolt, and inspired great works of art as well as playful and provocative designs. It brings together a dazzling selection of more than 300 objects from over 80 lenders worldwide, illustrating tartan’s universal and enduring appeal through iconic and everyday examples of fashion, architecture, graphic and product design, photography, furniture, glass and ceramics, film, performance and art.
It’s also the V&A Dundee’s 5th anniversary, so we look forward to various celebrations of this milestone during 2023.
Spectrum is proud to play its part in maintaining the excellent standards of the V&A brand. Our team have the pleasure of delivering cleaning services, including daily cleaning in the office and associated areas, break out areas, the canteen, showers and locker rooms, sanitary and washroom facilities, provision of consumables, window cleaning, provision of day-time janitorial services, as well as a quarterly deep clean.
The decision to renew the contract with Spectrum was based on the service levels we have achieved over the past five years and our commitment to sustainable cleaning practices. Still, our approach to data-driven cleaning also significantly influenced the contract renewal. We constantly monitor the usage of the building and analyse the data to ensure we consistently deploy the right number of people in the correct areas. Working in large-scale visitor centres requires this level of planning and monitoring to keep all areas clean, safe and comfortable for all staff and visitors.
We are excited to be working with the team at the V&A and welcome the opportunity to continue to support them during their 5th year and into the future.
