We’ve been so busy delivering our commercial and event services over the Summer that we’ve fallen somewhat behind in announcing our Employee of the Month winners. So, we are bringing you up to date by announcing the worthy winners for June, July and August in this post.

June Employee of the Month – Ian McCartney

John “Ian” McCartney has worked for Spectrum since 19th March 2022. Ian is the perfect person to work with Spectrum at Hampden Park Stadium; it is a multi-purpose venue, and his ability to perform various tasks fits their requirements perfectly.

Ian joined the team following a targeted recruitment campaign ahead of the busy summer period and now works in the team that provides their core cleaning while also supporting the many events at Hampden. 

So, Ian has worked at football matches and concerts and contributes to the high-quality cleaning service we provide to the overall Hampden stadium and clinic. He has proven to be an indispensable team member, completing his tasks with a high level of diligence while taking the time to pass on his knowledge to new team members.

Claire Rankin, Ian’s line manager, said, “Ian is extremely dedicated to his role and Hampden. Whether working in the waste compound to ensure waste is correctly streamed or one of the many other tasks we undertake within Hampden, Ian carries these out to the best of his abilities. I have absolute trust in Ian; he consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the stadium looks its best at all times.”

July Employee of the Month – Travis McLeod

We are pleased to announce that Travis McLeod has been selected as the Employee of the Month for July. 

Travis began working at Spectrum in November 2021. His initial employment was for only 3 hours per week at Lookers in Baillieston. However, this was enough for his Manager to notice his positive attitude, hard work and 100% attendance. In a short period, Travis had established himself as a valued team member, and we wanted to reward him with a full-time role. 

We were pleased when Travis accepted the Mobile Cover Op (West) role in March this year. Travis is ideal for this job because of his flexibility and willingness to move from site to site and be wherever he is required. Since then, Travis has displayed an exceptional work ethic and remains 100% with his attendance. He often helped during our Event season, even travelling over for the ISPS Handa golf event in Ireland. 

Usually, our nominations come from individual Line Managers; however, on this occasion, Travis was recognised by our Operations Director, Rebecca Bell, who commented, “Travis has particularly stood out this Summer during an exceptionally busy event season as someone who can be trusted to help support the Management Team. Travis has shown his ability to manage multiple Client requests in a busy environment and lead his teams to get a job well done. He has a fantastic attitude and is well-liked by all the people who work with him”. 

It’s yet another example of the opportunity for good people to progress and thrive at Spectrum. 

Travis, thank you for your commitment and all of your hard work, it is genuinely appreciated, and we’re delighted to name you Employee of the Month for July.

Further to this, we are awarding the Employee of the month for August to Sharon Allan;

August Employee of the Month – Sharon Allan

The deserving winner for August is Sharon Allan; she has been with Spectrum since 2006 and has delivered some great work over the years. She is a dedicated and committed employee who cares about the clients she works with.

Currently, Sharon works with two of our clients in Ayrshire, SAS Cumnock and Citizens Advice Cumnock, and for both, she delivers a high-quality service for which we are grateful.

Having two places of work, she also has two line managers, both full of praise for Sharon and her work ethic; here’s what they have to say about Sharon.

Ally Love: “I would like to nominate Sharon from SAS Cumnock for Employee of the month. Every time I meet Sharon, her attitude towards her work is terrific. A model employee whose standards are always extremely high, with consistently exemplary audit results. I cannot praise her enough at this moment in time.”

Helen Love: “Sharon has been with Spectrum since 2006 and is a true Spectrum Superstar. Throughout her time with Spectrum, she has continually delivered first-class cleaning standards, excellent attendance and a can-do attitude. She cares about the sites she works at, which shows her commitment and ethic.”
