Clean and Green is our objective – Is your cleaning regime environmentally friendly?

At Spectrum Service Solutions, we are committed to the environment, and we are working hard to reduce the use of chemicals used in commercial cleaning. We are also aware of a noticeable increase in uptake of our chemical-free cleaning processes. Clearly, organisations share our concerns and are looking for less damaging solutions to the environment.

Can we go completely chemical-free? Technically, yes, we can, but would we reach the levels of cleanliness and hygiene we experience when using chemicals? We believe we can make a significant impact by adopting new processes, but certain environments still require us to use chemicals, particularly in industrial cleaning. However, even when chemicals are needed, we use products that minimise potential harm and have the least impact on the environment.

For non-chemical cleaning, our solution is to use a mixture of water and salt, which is then passed through an electrical charge to create a chemical-free cleaning solution. Split stream technology electrically converts water and salt into a sustainable cleaning solution on-site that replaces many daily-use conventional cleaning chemicals.

This method of cleaning is surprisingly effective. Tests indicate the solution cleans and sanitises surfaces leaving them 99% germ-free.

The process does require some initial investment to purchase the equipment needed to introduce the electric charge, but we believe the benefits outweigh the upfront costs.

This technology supports sustainability initiatives. Minimising the need for conventional cleaning chemicals helps reduce your environmental footprint. You can also achieve cleaning results equal to or better than traditional cleaning chemicals in most applications, without the potential health and safety hazards. Additionally, adopting this process reduces the need to purchase, transport, and dispose of conventional daily-use cleaning chemicals and packaging which reduces carbon emissions.

However, there are instances when we need to use chemicals to ensure the results you require, especially in a manufacturing and production environment. In those circumstances, we are also working hard to reduce the impact on the environment.

In most cases, we can turn to chemical dosing systems; these detergent sachets speed up cleaning preparation and keep hands safe from chemical irritation. The packaging is compact and lightweight, eliminating transporting and storing chemical containers.

Our primary aim is to provide safe and hygienic conditions in the workplace, whether in offices, factories, stores, shops, or warehouses. However, we are equally committed to achieving this goal to reduce the risk to your employees and ours. We believe we have excellent options, and we will continue to explore anything that enables us to deliver the greenest cleaning service possible.

If sustainability and the environment are important to you, you should explore your cleaning and hygiene arrangements; there is a great deal you can, and should, do to minimise the use of chemicals and, ultimately, the impact on the environment. We’d be delighted to speak to you about our approach and how we can help you achieve a greener and more environmentally-friendly cleaning regime.
