Bus station contract is a game-changer!

We were delighted to see a recent Facebook post by Kilmarnock East and Hurlford Councillor Graham Boyd about the cleaning provision at one of our client sites, Kilmarnock Bus Station. It is gratifying when people take the time to comment, and even more so when they take time to capture and upload photographs; we are grateful to Councillor Boyd for acknowledging the hard work invested by the team working at Kilmarnock Bus Station.

If you’d like to see some before and after pictures that capture the transformation, please link to the original post here.

Below is the comment that Councillor Graham Boyd was kind enough to post on Facebook.

“Early this morning, Kilmarnock Bus Station received a deep clean; the pavings are much cleaner, although there’s still significant amounts of ground in chewing gum. Later in the morning Spectrum FM & Cleaning, began their cleaning contract, managed by Ayrshire Roads Alliance .

I met Spectrum staff as they began cleaning. Very impressive too (Pic 5), after emptying a bin they sprayed and wiped it down.

Spectrum FM will be onsite in the Bus Station cleaning as follows:

10am – noon and 6pm – 8pm (Mon – Fri)

8am – noon (Sat & Sun)

As mentioned previously, all aspects of cleaning will be carried out by Spectrum FM apart from the glass at the stances which is a separate contract.

The pavings will regularly be power washed, completed in sections in differing later shifts when it’s quieter. Hopefully, the gum is gradually removed.

This contract should be a game changer in terms of Bus Station cleanliness moving forward.”

We hope that, like Councillor Boyd, the people who regularly use Kilmarnock Bus Station have noticed the improvements. We strive to make a difference, and we trully appreciate it when people notice. Well done to Spectrum’s Regional Operations Manager, Ally Love, and his team working at the bus station.
