It was a long but very rewarding day on Sunday when the Spectrum Events team rose early for Kiltwalk Scotland. Although restricted in numbers this year, over 4000 walkers took part to raise funds for their chosen charities. In order to accommodate social distancing, there were staggered starts from 7am, and we’re pleased to say our team was there to see off the first starts right until the final finishers.
Spectrum had dedicated personnel at each pitstop, cleaning portaloos, sanitising touchpoints, litter picking and collecting waste. We also had our team members walking with and behind the walkers to pick litter for appropriate recycling.
As you can imagine, with over 4000 walkers taking part in either The Mighty Stride over the 16.5 miles or The Wee Wander over 3.5 miles, there was a considerable amount of cleaning up to be done. However, it was a great day with everyone in good spirits as they completed the routes and raised much-needed funds for all manner of deserving causes.
We were delighted to be part of the day. We thank those who took the time to talk to our staff and involve them in the fun. Finally, a special thank you to Sir Tom Hunter and the Hunter Foundation for contributing a further 50% of the total funds raised by the walkers on Sunday.
Below are some pictures our team took on Sunday; although it was a long day and hard work, they all found it gratifying to be part of such a great event.
