After a very busy Summer, we’re catching up with our Employee of the Month Awards, and we’re delighted to announce that the June winners were Karen Rankin and David Nightingale.

Karen Rankin started with Spectrum in 2020 at John Dewar, London Road. Karen was nominated by Regional Operations Manager Helen Love and Area Manager Lynne Graham, who have been impressed not only with her approach and attitude at the client site but also with her work as part of the events team.

Speaking about why Karen was the choice for June, Lynne said, “Karen has been outstanding at guiding and training staff at Hampden events. Likewise, in the VIP area at Bellahouston and Glasgow Life events. She has genuine potential and we’re already starting to broaden her responsibilities at Hampden, which is something she has welcomed and embraced.”

David Nightingale began working with Spectrum late last year on the night shift at Rockstar, Barclay House. He was nominated by Site Manager, Kevin Cairns and our Head of Operations, Gemma Pollock, both of whom have been quick to spot the hard work and diligence shown by David daily. Speaking about his nomination, Gemma said, “David joined us in November 2024, and after only being on site a few months, he had earned promotion to Team Leader, primarily because of his hard work and exceptional attitude.

“He delivers exceptional standards and has an excellent eye for detail; any request, whether it be from Spectrum or our client team, is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner without issue. He leads the team well, and liaises confidently with our various shift teams on site. He is a true asset to our team.

“David never stops, he is always on the go and always keen to please with anything that’s required. He is a big part of the nightshift team.”

Both Karen and David are worthy winners of the June Employee of the Month award; their attitude and work ethic are an asset to Spectrum. Thank you both for your commitment and dedication; it is greatly appreciated.
