We have been cleaning Scotland’s 52,063 capacity national stadium, Hampden Park, for over seven years, during which time we have cleaned up after football matches including the UEFA Cup Final and the 2012 Olympic Games, as well as music concerts such as Take That, U2 and Pink to name but a few.
Event cleaning is a highly specialised type of cleaning, not least because you need to have a fully coordinated and properly trained workforce, as well as be completely flexible.
There are often circumstances which are outwith our control, but what is important is that the job is complete and ready for the next event. In a number of instances, we have cleaned the stadium and removed all waste in an overnight turnaround in time for the next event the following day, including at the 2012 Olympic Games, Take That and various cup finals.
We have also developed a very efficient management structure for events, with communication and project planning at its heart. We often have to schedule at least numerous shifts to complete our event cleaning, so handover becomes a key element of the successful completion; this is an area where we have excelled and we are very proud to say we have never missed a deadline.
While working closesly with Hampden Park, we have assisted them in achieving zero waste targets, by changing the whole process of managing the waste within the stadium. We now have dedicated waste operatives and an educated workforce, who manage the waste compound, stream all waste, and educate the public.
