We are now almost halfway through Q2 of 2025, and we’ve been reflecting on what a busy few months it has been. We’ve already announced a fairly significant management change, which saw Rebecca Bell take over as Managing Director at Spectrum and our founder, Sara Taylor, assume the role of Chair. Naturally, these changes will mean new roles for people throughout the company, which we will be bringing news about over the coming weeks and months.
However, personnel changes aside, it’s been a busy four and a half months in terms of growth; we are delighted to report several new contract wins throughout Scotland in recent months.
Our long-standing relationships with property management firms continue to flourish, with three recent additional appointments for existing clients in and around Glasgow for daily cleaning, consumables, waste management and pest control services. Separate from these, we have also won a new client contract in George Square, Glasgow, to provide cleaning services and consumables for a UK-founded global operator that is well respected for helping clients manage health, safety, security, environmental and business risk.
At Baltic Chambers in Glasgow, we are delighted to be providing cleaning services for an established online retailer of popular travel accessories.
In Kirkcaldy, we have been appointed to provide daily cleaning services in all public areas at a new multi-tenanted office development, Cluny Court, in the heart of the John Smith Business Park. This magnificent 25,000 sq ft facility offers a range of office spaces, meeting rooms, and business services.
We are also happy to announce a contract win at two sites for the long-established storage and logistics operator at their Bathgate premises.
Rebecca Bell, Spectrum’s Managing Director, reflected on what has so far been an exceptionally busy start in her new role by saying: “It’s been a whirlwind four months; I can’t quite believe we’re midway through May already.
“Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone for the messages of support after announcing my new role. The change actually happened over the last six months of 2024. I was blown away by the messages and good wishes I’ve received from clients, team members, suppliers, and the business community in general; it is much appreciated.
“With regards to business, I couldn’t be more pleased than I am with the start of the year. We’ve had significant wins throughout the country, and we’ve got others in the pipeline that we’ll be announcing soon. The success is down to the great team we have at Spectrum and the work they put in daily; I’m extremely grateful to all of them.”
These are just some of the recent wins; we will bring you more news of other commercial cleaning and facilities management contracts as the months roll on, as well as our regular updates from the team during the busy events season.
