Following an extremely busy Summer, we are catching up with our Employee of the Month awards, and we are pleased to announce the winners of our Employees of the Month for August were Steven Broomer and Babatunde (Michael) Elusakin.
Steven Broomer started with Spectrum in December 2023 at Clan Haven in Aberdeen. It is clear from the comments submitted by themanagement team that Steven is ideally suited for working in a care environment.
He was nominated by both his Area Manager, Caroline Kane and Regional Operations Manager, Jennie McColl. Explaining why they thought he was a worthy winner, they said: “His exceptional conduct at Clan Haven in Aberdeen has not gone unnoticed by the client. On a night marked by a very challenging situation, Steven demonstrated remarkable calmness and professionalism. Despite the gravity of the situation, he maintained his composure and acted with integrity and compassion. Stevens dedication to the wellbeing of others is deeply appreciated and he exemplifies the core values of Spectrum. A true gentleman – thank you, Steven Broomer.”
Steven is an excellent example of our recruiting and training process; we appreciate the environment in which our operatives work, and we focus just as much on attitude and character as we do on ability and experience.
Babatunde (Michael) Elusakin started with Spectrum in May 2024 at Lothian Marine. Michael’s performance has recently attracted theattention of not one, but three members of our management team. They are Area Manager Vicky Guy, Regional Manager Katie Dodds, and Head of Operations Gemma Pollock; all three recognise the immense qualities and work ethic demonstrated by Michael.
Commenting on his nomination, Vicky Guy stated: “Michael is always happy to cover sites at short notice, he is always on time, delivers high standards at every clean, and always has a smile on his face”.
Katie Dodds added: “Michael joined Spectrum in May 2024 and his hard work has not gone unnoticed by the client; he has improved standards throughout the Marine depot and uses initiative to ensure client expectations are met. He is always willing to cover short-notice requests/sickness throughout the East Region, which has made a significant difference. Michael is a valued member of the team.”
Gemma Pollock also added, “Michael produces excellent standards and possesses a great work ethic. He is reactive and responsive, often covering local absences at short notice. He has made a positive impact at our Lothian Marine depot and has significantly improved standards during his time of employment here. He provides consistency to our service delivery on any site he attends/covers.”
Both of our August winners have not only caught the eye of our management team and their clients, but others also notice their hard work and dedication in their teams; they are genuinely leading by example and consistently hitting the high standards our clients expect every day.
Well done, Steven and Michael, we genuinely appreciate the contributions you are making.
