We were delighted that Spectrum’s Richard Jinks has been recognised by one of our clients for his positive safety behaviour and vigilance within our Upper Tier COMAH portfolio. Richard, who is employed as a plant cleaner at a manufacturing plant in North Ayrshire, was commended by site management for his actions in reporting an issue using the site’s proactive reporting system. He was recognised for his initiative and professionalism in ensuring that this was closed out.
Richard’s Manager, Alistair Love, commented “Richard’s actions are commendable, they’re a great example of closing the loop with personal ownership and not walking by. His actions and vigilance have helped to prevent an incident and safeguard welfare across the site. Everyday Spectrum employees are working in a variety of manufacturing environments, and positively contributing to their safety cultures. Well done Richard.”
Richard’s actions epitomise Spectrum’s Zero Harm Approach; Simply taking personal ownership of the environment of things that may not be in your direct remit can prevent issues escalating that could cause injury or impact production. Through working to identify possible issues before they cause a problem, we encourage a positive approach to Health & Safety and maintain vigilance in all aspects of our work. Richard’s intervention is an excellent example of someone who cares about their work environment; genuinely invested in his job, he has helped prevent an incident through his vigilance.
