After a busy few months, we’re catching up with our monthly staff award, which recognises an employee who has stood out for hard work and commitment. So, the May Employee of the Month goes to Leonie Defty.
Leonie is slightly different from our usual Employee of the Month. Typically, the winner is one of our full-time employees; however, as part of our commitment to supporting local communities, we use temporary staff, particularly for the events division, if the location is not where we regularly operate. This was the case this year at The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.
Leonie lived locally and was brought in to supervise our teams throughout the build-up period until the end of our contract at Hoylake. Leonie was a fantastic worker who was exceptionally well-organised and respected by her team. She quickly adapted to the Spectrum work ethic and was a valuable addition to the permanent Spectrum employees working at Royal Liverpool. All at Spectrum appreciate her commitment to ensuring we deliver excellent service.
Speaking about Leonie, Spectrum’s Operations Director, Rebecca Bell, said: “I was delighted to have Leonie on site at Royal Liverpool; she proved to be a safe pair of hands. She was extremely hard-working and committed to the contract. She also gained the respect of the many people she supervised at the venue.
“We are committed to using local expertise and knowledge for our event contracts; in fact, some temporary staff have transitioned to permanent staff in the past, and many come back again when we have contracts in the area.
“We are grateful to Leonie, and the other temporary staff, for their contribution during the whole period of our contract; she is a deserving winner of our Employee of the Month Award.”
